On the 12th Day {before} Christmas

We baked and baked and baked.

We made cookies galore, that flowed out the front door.
We laughed and we giggled.
Ate so much that we jiggled.
Made memories to last us forever and ever,
And decorated sugar cookies ever so clever.
You wee little ones are getting so big,
I laugh so hard when you sing your Santa jig.
Mimi and Mommy made memories to last,
baking these same cookies and eating them fast.
Just don't forget to share,
tis the season for giving...
and you don't want to leave your stomach for grieving.

I love you little munchkins so much and I am so happy that you are really into the holiday spirit. Little wee one yelling, "I see Santa!" whenever you see him, and Big wee one asking to listen to Christmas carols. I could squeeze you both! This cookie making day was filled with a gingerbread house, lots of sugar cookies, peanut butter cookies, cake balls, fudge, and pecan tansies...I'm sure there will be more follow :-)
Big wee one, you really loved decorating cookies and you were so good at it too! I was uber impressed with your icing skills. Little wee one, you loved to lick the icing off and run around the house listening to the reindeer cheerleader (It's hot, it's hot, it's hot in here, there must be a reindeer in the atmosphere). Thank you for being so special and sharing this special day with Mimi and me.
xoxo...Mommy
i'll be doing a new picture each day, but don't expect poetic justice each day...ha!

Tag

Miss Marie tagged me...
My 4th picture in my 4th folder in my computer:
I took this picture of a very good friend of mine, prego with her 5th wee one. I love pregnancy pictures :-) This was an impromptu little session, I don't remember why we took them, but then I have one of her and Lilster, it's so sweet, but blurry :(
In the meantime I tag...

Secret Keeper...

She is not!
We were in Targe' yesterday, picking up some things and we passed this movie:

Paul has been asking for this movie for Christmas since it was released in the theatres. I pick it up and Big wee one says, "Daddy likes that movie. I don't like it. The make-up on his face makes me want to cry...right Mommy?"

I tell her she doesn't have to watch it, but that Daddy wants it for Christmas and we are going to get it. I ask her if she can keep it a secret. She said she could...so, we got in line and paid for it. While we are in line, I'm explaining that it's going to be a gift and that we don't want to tell Daddy. We all seem to be on the same page...we aren't going to tell Daddy we got him the movie.

We arrive home, and a couple of minutes later so does Paul. He comes in and kisses everyone and asks how everyone's day went, and I head upstairs to change out of my work clothes. Big wee one and I have decided to make brownies, and Paul is helping her get her stool out. When I come downstairs, Paul hugs me and whispers in my ear, "Thank you for my surprise movie!" He's obviously excited! Argggg...I say, "Did you look at my receipt?"

"Nope, don't get mad at her, but Big wee one said: Daddy, sssshhhhh...we got you the joker movie and it's a secret." And... she whispered it! Stinker! Geeeshhh...can't tell her anything...lol.

On a side note: Little wee one is feeling a bit better, it's just coming from a different end now. I, on the other hand have felt semi-nauseous (sp) all day! Ugh!

Round 2.

Come on...put your gloves on and get in the ring!

I thought it was really fun with Big wee one (*please note the sarcasm in my type*), but Little wee one has already promised a much more exciting round of taking a ride on the....well, do I really need to type what's going on here??

We were enjoying a nice evening dinner with some friends, when Little wee one had to yack all over the place. Luckily, my SUPER MOM powers took over and I was able to keep almost all of it off of the couch and in my hands.

Has anyone ever thought to call the Dirty Jobs show when their kids are sick? Because that is one nasty job! Elckh...blah!

I'm going to make camp outside of Little wee ones room (for now), so my super spidey hearing can really tune in and try to keep the mess to a minimum and work on some Christmas gifts.

Have a spectacular night sponsored by your friends at:

Want to take a ride?

On the sick train??

Yup...the train has stopped at our house yet again! Big wee one wasn't feeling so hot Thursday into Friday, and when I picked her up on Friday her sitter said she was laying in the playing room. LAYING? Totally not like her, so I took her home, took her temp and she sure enough she had a fever.

I called and got her an appointment for Saturday morning at the dr's office and then made her a snuggly bed on the couch. I had to work Friday night, so I didn't get to snuggle with her, but Paul did :-)

Downtown Chambersburg all lit up for Candle Night.
Saturday morning came, I took her to the dr's and she has another ear infection (which I figured when I took her temp with the ear themometer, she burst into tears!) and strep throat :( We headed to Target, got her some meds and soup and went home to settle in for the day. She slept for a good part of the day and when she woke up for the evening we decorated the tree.Nothing like a nap in Mommy's bed when you are sick!
We were able to do some ornament decorating before she started feeling too sick. Daddy colored this reindeer.

I gave her, her second dose of medicine for the day and about half an hour later she threw up. That continued for the next 2+ hours, and then again in the middle of the night, and early this morning and then after I got her to eat a couple of bites of toast. Lovely.

She's now zonked on the couch and it looks like I'm going to pull the laptop out and do a little digi scrapping. We'll be home tomorrow too, and then I have to go into work when Paul gets home to prep for our cookie contest (entries are due tomorrow). I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Little wee one doesn't want to take a ride on the train and that Paul and I avoid the train as well. We are all a little bummed since we were going to go to Mimi's today and make a gingerbread house...guess we'll have to do it next weekend.

My scrapping progress thus far.
Have a healthy week!

Four years of Santa

We've been visiting the same Santa for 4 years now and we just love him! He's so great with the girls and patient. He remembers them from year to year...I must admit that I think its because they are so stinking cute.

So, here are the last 4 years, filling Santa in on what we want for Christmas. What do you think they asked for this year? LOL (see previous post).

Big wee one looked like a little elf the first year she went. The photographer STILL talks about their first meeting. LOL...it was really sweet, and she wasn't scared at all.

The second year, added a new addition (Little wee one) and Mimi :-) I have a picture of the two wee ones with Santa, but it's in a frame and I didn't feel like taking it out to take a picture of it.
Here is Little wee one with her first Santa picture. All smiles (and that hasn't happened since!)
Big wee one wasn't scared in this picture, she just wasn't in the mood to smile. Little wee one immediately BURST into tears as soon as this picture was taken. We didn't even try to get anymore after the first one. I did get some of Big wee one though, she just had this sweet little chubby cheek look to her that year.
And here we are, this year. Big wee one practiced her "perfect" smile all morning and faithfully did her duty of smiling for the camera. Even though this smile is a little week, I bet her cheeks where hurting...hehe. Little wee one did not want to have any part in this picture, so I bribed her with cookies and candy canes. No smiles, but at least she's not crying! A lot of the pictures she has that I want to cry look to her. Don't you love how well they coordinate with the background this year. :-) Sorry the picture has a glare, that's what happens when you take a picture of a picture.
Merry Christmas!!

Self Serve Breakfast

This morning, I could hear the girls playing nicely when I woke up, so I jumped in the shower before I could distract them. A nice quiet shower with no interuptions. When I got out, it was still quiet. A little too, quiet. I went to investigate, and this is what I found:

(Please excuse the horrid bare walls and the mess on the floor behind the table, we are clearing out some stuff, and, well...I'm slow at it)

Big wee one decided to make breakfast, which included the following: a nice little napkin in front of each girl with a small grouping of chips, marshmallows and crackers. Healthy! Noggin was playing on the boob-tube, and everyone was delightful. Oh, and Little wee one was naked. A new trend for her these days. She's just itching for me to potty train her, and I plan on doing that soon (probably around Christmas), don't you just love her hair! It has that fresh rolled out of bed look to it. Big wee one is already dressed as well in her finest summer tank dress...yes, when she was busy entertaining herself this morning, I snuck into her room and packed the rest of her warm weather dresses away!

We are prepping for Christmas and will start decorating this week! YEAHHH!! I love Christmas ;-) I've been listening (as sickening as it is to some of you!) to Christmas music since before Thanksgiving. Our friend Cathy gave us her old tree, so this will be the first year that we'll have a big tree and not our little 4ft tree. When I asked if Big wee one was excited about a big tree she said, "No...our tree is supposed to be little." It makes me feel a little better that she isn't upset about not having a larger tree in the past, she really didn't care at all.

I've been getting requests for Christmas gifts for the past 8 months, but in the past month Big wee one has narrowed it down to: Barbies. That's it...specifically the holiday barbie with the long eyelashes (though she doesn't mention it on the video below), but really, any barbie would delight her. Little wee one has asked for a baby and a baby bed. All things I think we can handle this year :-)

Tomorrow morning, Paul and I will wake up before the sunrises to get the girls to their favorite sitter and then head up to Hershey. I'll have another MRI done and then meet with my neurologist to go over any new plans for my AVM (notice how I talk in 3rd person in that entry...lol). I'm not sure what they will say, but I personally don't think much has changed with it. They said they were able to shrink about 50% of it, but to me, visually, it looks the same. We shall see. IF I do have to have another surgery, it won't happen until after the new year and I'm hoping in either February or March. I'll be sure to keep everyone posted :-)

I hope you like our new header...as soon as I get the girl's santa picture back, I'll put that up there as well :-) This picture was taken last night, we made chocolate chip cookies. YUM!
